Ode To Obama - Lyrics
Ode to Obama
(Sung to the theme songs [one at the beginning of the show, one at the end] from Gilligan’s Island)
Lyrics by Kelly Gottuso Mortimer

Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started with the “Messiah,”
Who’d make the Clintons flip.
The mate was a mighty speakin’ man
Whose words were brave and sure,
Fifty-two percent would vote that day
For a three-year Sen-a-tor.
A three-year Sen-a-tor. [Sound of thunder: Crack!]
The economy started getting rough,
Dow averages were tossed
If not for the courage of a fearless man,
The U.S. would be lost.
The U.S. would be lost.
The Weather Underground had a man in this
Who’d reach across the aisle—
With Reverend Wrighhht, the ACORN crew,
Plus William Ayerssss, and his wife
Rez-ko, Rashid—the Professors and Farrakhan,
Hear the liberals sighhh.
So, this is the wail of conservatives—
“They’re here for a long, long time.
We’ll have to make the best of things,
It’s an uphill climb.”
The First Lady and Joe Biden too,
Will do their very best
To make Obama comfortable,
While on his hairbrained quest.
No coal! No oil! No motor cars! Not a single luxury,
Like Marx is spreadin’ wealth, oh, it’s primitive as can be.
So join us in four years my friends; you’re sure to get a smile,
’Cause Palin’s gonna win the day; the Libs are in denial!

Alrighty then!
The final stanza emerges as the appropriate climatic finish! Kudos Kelly.
Ahh… How I’d love to see the rich and over-priviledged, out-of-touch people have to return to the days of horse, buggy, and wax candles. Aargh!
It would be interesting to see how many politicians would wander to the houses/camps of the previously ‘under-priviledged’ people (who know how to survive) and beg for food and directions along the adventurer’s path into the ‘morrow.
Nicely done.

Hey Tom,
Why, thank ya! Spent 30 minutes on it–well worth the time, as it’s the most fun I’ve had in a while.

That’s so cute! I love it!

Been spending all my “free” time building the apartment for my parents to live in, so I just got to this. What a grand way to start my Saturday. I joined Lynn Rush … ROTFLing. My best friend here in town owns the GM dealership, and while one part of him wants the bail, his inner conservative self says its not the right thing. Hava great weekend.

What a hoot! Great work!!! I finally figured out how to navigate this site…duh. I have very mixed emotions about the bail out and at least two if not three of the foreign car plants that refuse to go union because their companies treat them well without the union, are located here in Alabama. It’s provided lots of good jobs and it proves that automobiles can be made and companies can do their people right without a union. They get bonuses each Christmas…more on good years, or none on bad years. The workers agreed to this. They don’t get a bonus when sales are down…that’s common horse sense! I knew the CEO of the Mercedes plant. His daughter showed her horse with my daughter. Yeah…he was rich compared to us but lived in a normal middle class home. No exorbitant salaries for him. The US car makers should come to Alabama and learn how to make cars efficiently.
